Film locations in Ta' Sannat
Ta' Sannat is a quiet village in southern Gozo, near the Ta' Ċenċ cliffs. Its church square was the original Sainte Victoire in series one of The Madame Blanc Mysteries, and Coronation Street's characters stayed at the nearby Ta' Ċenċ Hotel.
Sannat is a small farming village on the plateau south of Victoria, built around the parish church of St Margaret. A short walk south, the land ends at the Ta' Ċenċ cliffs, some of the highest on the Maltese islands. When Sally Lindsay was scouting for The Madame Blanc Mysteries she fell for Sannat's square. For series one the crew closed it off, drove cars on the right and parked French vehicles to turn it into Sainte Victoire, with the police station and La Couronne bar next to the church. Coronation Street's 2007 Gozo trip put Steve and Eileen at the Ta' Ċenċ Hotel just outside the village. Route 305 from Victoria serves Sannat and Ta' Ċenċ.
