Film locations in Sliema
Sliema is the busy seafront town across Marsamxett Harbour from Valletta, whose Tower Road promenade played the 'Tel Aviv' seafront in Steven Spielberg's Munich (2005).
Sliema grew from a fishing village into Malta's main shopping and residential seafront, linked to Valletta by a short ferry across Marsamxett Harbour. Its long promenades, Tower Road and the Strand, run along a rocky coast used for swimming in summer. Its mix of seafront apartment blocks and open sea made it an easy stand-in for a 1970s Mediterranean city.
