About Fort Delimara
Fort Delimara is a 19th-century British polygonal fort cut into the cliffs at the tip of the Delimara peninsula. Its long, dark casemates and tunnels have made it a favourite with film crews. Gladiator II's production designer Arthur Max said they used it for the interior tunnels of the Colosseum, and in Assassin's Creed Aguilar and Maria escape with the Apple through its underground passages. The fort is closed to the public because of erosion damage, so you can only see it from outside.
Best time to go
