About Tower Road Promenade

Tower Road is the main seafront promenade of Sliema, running along the rocky coast from the Ferries area towards St Julian's, lined with apartment blocks, cafés and the swimming rocks below. In Munich, Spielberg used the promenade for 'Tel Aviv': Avner (Eric Bana) walks along the seafront with the mysterious handler Ephraim (Geoffrey Rush), who tells him he has been chosen to lead the mission. The low wall, the open sea and the 1970s-looking blocks were all it needed. Today it's the island's favourite place for an evening stroll, a jog or a swim off the rocks, with plenty of kiosks and cafés along the way.

Best time to go
