Floriana is the 18th-century fortified suburb just outside Valletta's City Gate, whose Pinto Wharf waterfront warehouses doubled for walled 'Jerusalem' in World War Z (2013).

Floriana grew up in the 18th century inside a second ring of fortifications built to protect Valletta's landward side. It is a town of wide parade grounds, gardens and granaries, and down on the Grand Harbour its Pinto Wharf warehouses have been restored as the Valletta Waterfront, now home to restaurants and the cruise terminal. Film crews use the waterfront and its harbour roads for big crowd and vehicle scenes.
